Members Elect New Trustees in 2015 LASERS Board Election

Five member representatives were re-elected to the LASERS Board of Trustees in the 2015 election.

Re-elected active incumbents are Thomas Bickham, Undersecretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Judge William T. Kleinpeter of the City Court of Port Allen, and Shannon S. Templet, former Director of the Department of State Civil Service and now Director of Human Resources of the House of Representatives.

Retired LASERS members elected two candidates: Virginia Burton, retired from the Louisiana Department of Revenue; and Lorry Simmons Trotter, retired from Louisiana State University. Both previously served as Trustees on the LASERS Board.

2009 LASERS Board of Trustees Election

The 2009 LASERS Board of Trustees Election will soon begin.

Election packets, including information about the voting process and candidates, will be mailed to all LASERS members beginning Friday, September 25, 2009. Voting will begin that day, and end at 4:30 p.m., CDT, on October 23, 2009.

Voting will take place via the Internet, by telephone, or by mail. We ask you to encourage all those voting by mail to make sure they cast their ballot and mail it in time for it to be received by the October 23 deadline. Ballots received after 4:30 p.m. on this day will not be counted.

2007 LASERS Board of Trustees Election

Ballots for the 2007 LASERS Board of Trustees Election were mailed to eligible voters on Friday, September 28. The ballot packet contains complete instructions for voting by mail, telephone, or Internet.

If you have not received your ballot by Friday, October 5, or if your election materials become lost or destroyed, you can request a replacement by calling 1-866-720-4357

The deadline for voting in the 2007 LASERS Board of Trustees election is 4:30 p.m. (CDT), Friday, October 26, 2007.

2007 LASERS Board of Trustees Nominations Being Accepted

LASERS is accepting nominations for three trustee positions representing active members on the Board of Trustees and two trustee position representing retired members.

Active and Retired Candidate packets and the election schedule are available on the LASERS website at www.lasersonline.org.

If you choose to participate in this election, you should be aware of the importance of a complete petition for candidacy. It is very important that you understand that individuals signing the petition must also include the final four digits of their Social Security numbers. LASERS will certify that the individuals who sign the petitions are LASERS members.

It is extremely important that all completed candidate petitions, qualifications, platforms and photos are due to LASERS no later than 4:30 p.m. (C.D.T.), July 10, 2007.
