Cynthia Y. Rougeou, Executive Director of the Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System (LASERS), was elected Vice President for Region 4 of the National Association of State Retirement Administrators (NASRA) during the organization’s recent annual meeting in Savannah, Georgia.
NASRA is a non-profit association whose members are the directors of the nation’s state, territorial, and largest statewide public retirement systems. NASRA members oversee retirement systems that hold more than $2 trillion in assets, and that provide pension and other benefits to more than two-thirds of all state and local government employees.
Region 4 includes Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Colorado, New Mexico and Kansas. “I am honored to have the confidence of NASRA members during this challenging time for public pension systems.” said Rougeou, “There is much work to be done in the coming year to provide assistance and support to our members, and to continue to communicate with decision makers about the importance of a sound public retirement system.”
