Tropical Storm Fay began moving very slowly westward across north-central Florida this afternoon towards an uncertain appointment with the central Gulf coast.
The National Hurricane Center's 4 p.m. forecast now calls for a weakening but not disappearing Fay to crawl slowly westward over the next four days under the influence of a growing high pressure system to its north.
On this most recent forecast path, the storm will still be a depression with 30 mph winds and lots of rain as it approaches Vicksburg, Miss., on Tuesday afternoon.
