3 Funds to get 160 million from LASERS

Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System, Baton Rouge, committed $60 million to the Mesirow V fund and $50 million to the Erasmus Louisiana Growth Fund II, said Bobby Beale, CIO of the $9 billion fund.

The Mesirow fund is a domestic private equity fund. The Erasmus fund is a specialized co-investment vehicle run for the system by alternative investment management firm Aldus Equity. The fund also committed an additional $50 million to the Bridgewater Pure Alpha fund, a multistrategy hedge fund.

The system already invested $100 million to the Bridgewater fund last year and wanted to add more because it has been doing well, Mr. Beale said.
